chronic chicken escapees in berkeley

i keep seeing these guys out of their yard on my walks in the berkeley hills. today they were all the way down on the danged sidewalk.

 

so i cluck and i purr at them, and they follow me back up the stairs to their giant fenced in yard.

 

i wonder if the owners know their chickens keep escaping. i'll have my animal control posse pay 'em a visit.
